This 4/5-year course is based on physics but includes content from chemistry and biology to give an important appreciation of how all the sciences have new effects to be observed and new applications to be discovered.
The Nanotechnology and Microsystems MSc course will produce graduates with up-to-date understanding of the emerging field of nanotechnology as well as an appreciation of the application of such ideas in microsystems. The course is multi-disciplinary and is designed for students with an undergraduate background in physics, chemistry or engineering.
At the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), the School of Science and the School of Engineering jointly offer Nano Science and Nano Technology Postgraduate Programs that integrate different disciplines in both science and engineering. The School of Science offers MPhil and PhD Program in Nano Science and Technology (NSNT) and the School of Engineering offers Nanotechnology Concentration.
