CIRCA'08 - leveraging state-of-the-art nanofabrication for electronics

(Nanowerk News) Join global nanoelectronics and technology industry leaders by attending or sponsoring CIRCA 08.
CIRCA 08 is an industry-leading annual conference at the Gideon Putnam Hotel in Saratoga Springs, New York, and at the College of Nanoscale Science & Engineering's state-of-the-art, $4.2 billion Albany NanoTech Complex.
Purpose of CIRCA 08
The purpose of CIRCA 08 is to enable the convergence of logic, memory, sensors, power and wireless technologies by leveraging the state-of-the-art nano-fabrication know-how of leading device, equipment and material suppliers driving the nanoelectronics (semiconductor) industry.
CIRCA 08 will present strategies for shared development of cross-sector, university-enabled technology platforms and identify related teaming opportunities around industry-compliant manufacturing solutions common to the semiconductor, aerospace, energy and healthcare industries. These strategies will reduce the cost, time and risk to commercialize nanotechnology enabled products.
Targeted outcomes from the conference include:
1. To identify cross-sector technology roadmaps that are enabled by advanced computing, emerging nanofabrication technologies and supported by suppliers through vertically integrated teams of companies.
2. To promote the “Albany Integration Model” as the new paradigm for industry, university and government partnerships that provides industry with Quick-Turn-Around-Time (QTAT) 200mm & 300mm wafer pilot-prototyping capability. Discover the critical “missing link” for success in reducing the risk, cost and time to market of nanotechnology-enabled devices.
3. To develop tailored outreach strategies and commercialization pathways to be funded by industry, academia and government, along with leading convergence market players in the advanced computing systems, energy, wireless, aerospace/defense, and healthcare sectors.
