UC Santa Barbara to Host 3rd Annual Global Energy Summit |

| (Nanowerk News) The University of California Santa Barbara’s Technology Management Program will assemble entrepreneurs, investors, technologists and senior policy makers from China, British Columbia and California at the Emerging Energy Technologies Summit on the UCSB campus, Corwin Pavilion, February 8th and 9th. | |
| As demand for efficient and clean energy rises around the world, California’s technology, economic and political capital is helping to effect world change with global partners. Representatives from CA Energy Commission, PG&E, and Sempra Energy will discuss funding opportunities. Several international Venture Capitalists: American River Ventures, Cycad Group, NGEN Partners, and US-China Capital Partners, will share investment criteria, what types of energy solutions they are funding and why. | |
| A large market driver of energy costs, China’s response to such demands is ripe with opportunity for North American firms to address critical global problems and accelerate the next wave in technology innovation. Presenters to address this topic include Cambridge Energy Research Associates, Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd., and UCSB’s Partnership (China-US) for International Research and Education. | |
| British Columbia, long bridged to the Pacific Rim, works across borders creating innovative public and private partnerships to stimulate economic growth and energy solutions.
