Job Description:

The lab process engineer will be a member of the Exploratory Device team to support the device research activities. You will work closely with our researchers and fab operators as well as the lab process team. Your main responsibilities are to carry out device processing and integration in a lab based environment. You will focus on the fabrication of high performance/proof of concept type of transistors/devices, following pre-defined process steps, stabilizing process flows, troubleshooting process-related issues and maintaining a detailed lab documentation. In addition, you will be able to develop and verify new process steps, flows and modules when necessary.

  • You have a Master degree in micro-electronics, nano-technology, electrical or chemical engineering with preferably 3 years relevant on the job experience.
  • You have hands-on lab experience and knowledge of electrical and physical characterization.
  • You are challenged by making devices out of  non-standard materials.
  • You are a communicative team player. You can summarize your work and present the challenges in a convincing and clear way.
  • You can think outside of the box and have a flexible mindset.
  • Given the international character of imec, a fluent knowledge of English is necessary.
