Job Mission As an Expert in Precision Engineering you are responsible for technology and conceptual development and application of design principles and patterns of precision engineering to meet system specifications, and operational requirements.
Job Description Within ASML the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) is responsible for the specification and the design of the ASML products. The department Mechanical Development (MDEV) is designing, building and testing mechanical systems and sub-systems which are fitted into the end products. The group Mechanical Analysis is responsible for precision engineering of critical modules and for general mechanical analysis.
• Creation and validation of new concepts; • Optimization of the design, within team of designers; • Investigation of complex mechanical issues (testing, calculations, data analysis); • Definition and execution of final tests to verify the specifications.
Technical University, masters or PhD with specialization in Precision-, Micro-, Nano- engineering; Biomechanics; Tribology; Mechanics of materials or Mechatronics (with mechanical background).
Experience Solid theoretical and experimental experience in the field of precision engineering. Preferably also experience in one or more of the following competences: • Finite element method (FEM); • Tribology, coatings, air bearings; • Joining technologies: fasteners, adhesives, welding, etc… ; • Fatigue of elastic elements; • Advanced materials (ceramics, glass, composites).
Personal Skills: • Strong analytical ability with a pragmatic attitude; • Creative thinking capability; • Good communication skills; • Good knowledge of English.
