Job Description:

We are seeking candidates to fill a research position in experimental condensed matter physics, in the field of low temperature scanning tunneling spectroscopy. The candidate should have a PhD degree in Physics or in a related discipline, and have suitable skills in the area of low temperature physics and/or surface science.

 


She or he will to take a leading role in our research projects related to atomic and molecular physics on surfaces. In particular, she or he will study electronic and magnetic phenomena on novel semiconductor and superconductor surfaces using a combination of low temperature scanning tunneling microscopy, force microscopy and optical spectroscopy. The host research group focuses its scientific activities on the study of fundamental electronic phenomena at the nanoscale. The main research tool is scanning tunneling spectroscopy, with a wide variety of synthesis, growth and characterization techniques available within the local environment of nanoGUNE.
