Texans requests billions in earmarks

(Nanowerk News) Here is a story that goes very nicely with one of our Nanowerk Spotlights from last week - "Congressional pork bloats U.S. military nanotechnology spending".
"Texans requests billions in earmarks" is a news report on congressional pork requests from Texan members of congress: "Rep. John Culberson wants $10 million for nanotechnology projects. Rep. Sam Johnson is seeking $4 million for a National Virtual Vietnam Archive at Texas Tech University. For a week, the House bickered over spending on special projects and who decides what pork members of Congress get to bring home. But even as they tussled over controlling wasteful spending, members of the Texas congressional delegation had already requested billions of dollars for university research, roads, water projects, museums, social and criminal justice programs and more."
