New nanotechnology calls published under EU FP7

(Nanowerk News) The European Commission has published a number calls for nanoscience and nanotechnology proposals under the Cooperation - Research theme: 'Nanosciences, nanotechnologies, materials and new production technologies' program of the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). The objectives of this particular FP7 nanotechnology research theme are:
  • to improve the competitiveness of European industry;
  • to generate knowledge and ensure transformation from a resource-intensive to a knowledge-intensive industry;
  • to generate step changes in knowledge;
  • to implement decisive knowledge for new applications at the crossroads between different technologies and disciplines;
  • to benefit both new, high-tech industries and higher-value, knowledge-based traditional industries, with a special focus on the appropriate dissemination of RTD results to SMEs;
  • to enable technologies which impact all industrial sectors and many other Seventh framework programme themes.
  • FP7-NMP-2008-CSA-2 (Support to outreach and communication in nanotechnology Nanosciences and converging sciences; Examining capacity building in nanobiotechnology Nanotechnologies and converging technologies; Study about best practices for IPR and license agreements for collaborative research and technological development projects in nano- and converging technologies)
    FP7-NMP-2008-EU-India-2 (Computational material science)
    FP7-NMP-2008-LARGE-2 (Pilot lines to introduce nanotechnology-based processes into the value chain of existing industries Health and Environmental Impacts; Validation, adaptation and/or development of risk-assessment methodology for engineered nanoparticles)
