Call for interest: European Space Agency is seeking a Commercial Agent Network

(Nanowerk News) The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Commercial Agent Network to market and sell the use of ESA s facilities on the International Space Station (ISS) and related resources and services within the Materials and Processes industrial community.
ESA has recently issued a Call For Interest to European companies from the Materials and Processes market sector, which includes amongst others the disciplines of New Materials, Nanotechnology, Mass and Energy Transport and Combustion. With this call, ESA wishes to draw the attention of European companies covering these business sectors to the unique opportunity to function as partners or as a leader of a network of Commercial Agents whose challenging task is to exclusively market and sell the use of facilities, resources and services available aboard the largest space structure ever built by man and the only permanent low Earth orbit laboratory the International Space Station.
ESA hereby invites you to take part in the Call for Interest
The ISS is a multipurpose laboratory orbiting the Earth at approximately 400 km above the Earth. It is unique in its equipment with state-of-the-art facilities, scientific potential and most importantly in being the only large-scale research laboratory where gravity is permanently switched off. As gravity is the major source of distortion for many research fields in the Materials and Processes sector, the microgravity environment offered by the ISS can be a crucial factor for innovative research activities. But the commercial access to the ISS is not merely research-driven it is also available for non-research projects such as technology demonstrations or sponsorship.
The task of the Commercial Agent to be appointed by ESA will be to raise the awareness of the unique opportunities ESA has to offer to the Materials and Processes business sector and consequently to sell those opportunities within the business fields mentioned above.
